Fragrance and Well Being, by Jennifer Peace Rhind, is a delightful book. I only wish it were scratch & sniff. I have always loved fragrance and there are some that I can still experience today though the places are gone-grandmother’s house, summer camp, and the apple orchard where I played as a child. When I became a little older, my favorites were Lauren, Rive Gauche, Halston, and later Tiffany and Clinique Wrappings. This book shares the history of fragrance and will help you figure out what you like and why. You will learn the research that has been done on emotions and subsequent pheromones generated. Most interesting was the classification system involving floral, fruity, etc. with base notes and top notes. Once you discover which of these types you like, you could much more quickly find other fragrances you like.
I enjoyed this book but wondered if I needed to know all the history. Not all charts were formatted correctly for Kindle and that was a hinderance to my full enjoyment of the book. Overall I give it 4 stars.
